Day 1-4 Athens and Nafplio

Athens, named for Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and courage, was once the most powerful city in ancient Greece and the birthplace of democracy, theater, and Western civilization.

The city itself mirrors the fortitude of the goddess herself and the city’s cultural richness and history are evident in its architecture. Travel to Athens is a must for history and archeology buffs! The city’s hillsides and picturesque vistas, and the Athens Riviera will be equally appreciated by all.

You will also visit a number of wonderful places in Athens, such as Hefestus Temple, Kerameikos, Greek & Roman Agora (tower of winds), and Socrates Prison. After lunch, enjoy a visit to the New Acropolis Museum or the National Archaeological Museum, one of the world’s best museums.

Day 5-8 Thessaloniki

Arrive in Thessaloniki for 3 days of relaxation on the edge of the Thermaic Gulf. Enjoy ancient ruins to modern highrises along the beaches and the best nightlife in the Aegean.

Day 9-11 Volos

Volos is a medium-sized city in the Thessaly region and a center of Greek Gastronomy. Known for its Mezedes, (small plates), served with ouzo or tsipuro.

The impressive rocks of Meteora are rising from the plains of Thessaly,  one of the most spectacular places in Greece. Reaching over 600 meters, they are considered as on of the most important monastic communities of Greece.

Today only six monasteries are active with a small number of monks or nuns who reside on Meteora. In 1988, the Meteora monasteries have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

“In a region of almost inaccessible sandstone peaks, monks settled on these ‘columns of the sky from the 11th century onwards. Twenty-four of these monasteries were built, despite incredible difficulties, at the time of the great revival of the eremetic ideal in the 15th century. Their 16th-century frescoes mark a key stage in the development of post-Byzantine painting”.

Day 12-13 Ioannina

Ioannina is ideal for a vacation year-round. Ioannina has important archaeological sights; a small island inside a lake, gorgeous mountains, great nightlife, and traditional cuisine.  Walk its cobblestone streets to view the eclectic architecture.

With the city at your back, the magnificent Ioannina Castle and the Arslan Mosque start to fade away and they are replaced with the image of a small green island, under the shadows of the surrounding prominent mountains! With no cars at all, every walk will calm your soul, the chirping of the birds and the sound of the fallen leaves underneath your feet will remind you of the simple pleasures of life. Just a short walk up the hill you’ll find panoramic views of the lake and all its fishing boats that will offer you an experience that will stay with you for a while!

Day 14-17 Mykonos

Mykonos, the rock star of the Cycladic Islands in Greece is one of the most famous of the Greek islands located in the Cyclades made famous for its great nightlife. Mykonos has a stretch of sand for every mood and taste. Massive dance clubs attract world-renowned DJs and typically stay open well past dawn. It’s time to get your summer on as the island is also known for its beach bars that blare thumping music. It is the Mykonos chic lifestyle, but it is so much more.

Mykonos offers amazing beaches, beautiful nature, picturesque villages and of course delicious Greek food. Take a walk through narrow marble street and you can admire whitewashed houses with colorful door and window frames, bougainvillea trees in purple bloom, and hidden churches. Wander around the pedestrian shopping streets of the Hóra, always colorful and busy. The most glamorous of all is Matoyánni Street, lined with brand-name stores, charming cafés, and stylish restaurants. Soak up the atmosphere along the lively waterfront and admire a fleet of fishing boats casting colorful reflections in the azure waters. The island is a paradise for water sport enthusiasts! Mykonos, known as the “Island of the Winds” attracts surfers and sailors from all over the world! Mykonos has something for everyone.

Day 18-21 Santorini

Santorini beckons all with amazing sunsets. Considered the supermodel in the Cyclades group made famous for its dramatic views from Oia town and the crowds. A head-turner whose face is instantly recognizable around the world. You’ll be amazed by the multicolored cliffs that soar out of a sea-drowned caldera, topped by drifts of whitewashed buildings.
