Amalfi Coast Tour

Day 1-3 Capri

Laid-back nature and amazing food will greet you in Capri. A small maritime island, Capri has a history as a refuge for writers, artists, and intellectuals. After arriving in Naples, enjoy the views as you take a 50-minute ferry from Naples to Capri along the Gulf of  Naples.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

It was known as the “Stracasa” (“Super-house”) because it was so much more than a humble abode. In 1920 the Lombardy-born engineer Emilio Errico Vismara chose spectacular Punta Tragara as the perfect spot to build a villa, perched high above the sea with views of the Faraglioni rock formations. The plans were drawn up by Le Corbusier, who described the villa as “a kind of architectural bloom, an extension of the rock, an offspring of the island, a plant-like phenomenon”.

It was only natural, then, that Villa Vismara should play a key role in history a few years later when it became home to the American command during the Second World War. Its eminent guests included General Dwight D. Eisenhower, General Mark Clark and Sir Winston Churchill.

Peace brought all the joie de vivre of the Dolce Vita to Capri, and in 1968 Count Goffredo Manfredi bought the villa as a holiday home, turning it into a hotel in 1973. Hotel Punta Tragara has enjoyed extraordinary growth ever since, reaching the pinnacle of hospitality on Capri as its five-star luxury status attests today.

ACTIVITIES in CAPRI:

  • Take a Scooter around the Island of Capri

Pick up a scooter each day for an hour to explore the Island on your own.

  • Street Food Tour with a Small Group

Explore the most trusted artisanal food shops, tasting as you go.

Includes some sightseeing in Capri as you walk around Cesarine from tasting to tasting. Home of the oldest network of home cooks that are passionate hosts that open their own homes for an immersive culinary experience.

  • Beach Day at Bagni Tiberio Beach Club with Sunbeds and a Lunch Reservation

It is the perfect spot to spend the day on Capri where you can relax at the beach club along a crystalline bay, sit down at the full-service restaurant for a plate of spaghetti with clams followed by peaches in white wine.

You can still see the remains of the nearby imperial villa overlooking the bay.

  • Private Boat around Capri

The best way to see Capri is to explore from the sea one of the most beautiful islands in the world aboard a private boat, where there will be only you and an experienced sailor. You’ll have plenty of time to make several stops in the island’s coves to relax, swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters of Capri.

I highly recommend a stop for lunch in one of the restaurants by the sea, the sailor will accompany you to the pier of the structure and will wait for your return to continue the tour.

Itinerary:

  • Pass By: Marina Piccola. Sail to the bay of Marina Piccola, with a visit to the Cave of the Sailors
  • Pass By: White Grotta Visit to the cave
  • Pass By: Green Grotta Visit to the cave
  • Pass By: Natural Arch You will look from the sea to the famous Natural Arch, an arch-shaped rock structure, formed by natural causes, following exogenous and endogenous erosion processes that have affected the rocks.
  • Pass By: Villa Malaparte You will see from the sea Villa Malaparte, a private house created by the Italian writer Curzio Malaparte, situated on a narrow rocky promontory, which seems to rise from the sea.
  • Stop At: Blue Grotto To enter the cave you will make a boat change. Climb up on one of the rowing boats run by a private company and visit the cave from inside. The duration of the visit may vary depending on the length of the row of waiting boats. Extra ticket for 14 euros / pax. Duration: 1-hour Admission Ticket Not Included
  • Stop At: I Faraglioni You will see the famous Faraglioni di Capri closely. The three rock peaks to the southeast of the island are the key stage of each tour. Pass under the arch of Faraglioni di Mezzo and take a unique souvenir photo. Duration: 15 minutes Admission Ticket Free
  • Pass By: Punta Carena Lighthouse We will sail along the west coast of the island that houses the Lighthouse of Punta Carena, the second-largest lighthouse in Italy.
  • Pass By: Red Grotta We will enter the Cave of the Coral, famous for the red color of the corals that are inside the cave, just below sea level.

  • Afternoon relaxing at the Fontelina Beach Club – Beach Beds with a Lunch Reservation

Everybody who comes to Capri’s Fontelina agrees that ours is one of the most beautiful beach clubs in Italy. It’s also one of the most exclusive: the kind of place where you might easily find yourself sitting in the sun next to a high-profile politician or Hollywood film star.

For us, it is a place so incredibly beautiful that nothing we do can make it more so. For us, it is a place to value and to love, just as our parents and grandparents did before us.

Here, where the waves lap gently against the Faraglioni rocks before breaking on the island’s sunny shores, you’ll experience the true heart and soul of Capri, and the legend which accompanies it.

A corner of the island lit by the turquoise reflections off the water.
A simple retreat, where hospitality is part of our history.

A magical place where each and every client is offered the warmest of welcomes, the finest food, and memories to treasure – forever.

Day 9 Naples

ACCOMMODATIONS:

At the end of the 19th century, George Parker Bidder III, a wealthy English marine biologist, who spent much of his time at the zoological department of the Royal Villa Comunale, saved the former Hotel Tramontano Beau Rivale, where he was a loyal guest, from financial ruin. Grand Hotel Parker’s as it became known, transformed into the select retreat for the literary and cultural elite of British high society. Fast forward to the aftermath of WW II and Grand Hotel Parker’s is once again rescued but this time by Francesco Paolo Avallone, patron of the fine arts.

The Grand Hotel Parker’s is reborn. Massive restoration is underway with great detail and attention paid to preserving the priceless original features.

The Grand Hotel Parker’s is the historic legacy of old-world grandeur and flawless service today just as it was in 1870…
