A private, tiny, uninhabited island only 15 minutes boat ride from the resort, Mociu is a protected nature reserve and the waters and reef around it have been declared a marine “na tabu” by the Paramount Chief of the Mamanucas – meaning no form of fishing or shell fish collecting is allowed. Mociu Island is for the enjoyment of Ahura Resorts’ guests only and will also be used to further develop and expand our environmental initiatives including: dry forest restoration, coral/clam and other marine transplanting and preservation and other bio-diversity protection.

Offering the perfect combination of fun and adventure, this guided tour takes you through the spectacular island paradise of the Mamanuca group. You will enjoy breathtaking views of the islands, sandbar, coral reefs and stop for a snorkeling experience. (Note: operates from a neighbouring resort and includes boat transfer).
Here you will experience how our indigenous land owners live at the local chiefly village of Yaro. Your trip begins authentically as the local villagers travel – in a long-boat from the resort in a short 15 minute trip to around the other side of the island. You will meet the locals – some of them will be the family of many of our resort staff – and learn the history of the area, island and the village.
Dress code: In the village modesty is important, there is a dress code – no short dresses, swimwear or shorts and all guests must wear a sulu/sarong. No hats are allowed to be worn when walking around the village.
Fliteboard is an electric powered hydrofoil, also known as an eFoil. Standing on the board, riders use a handheld Flite Controller to manage their speed. With a mast that is partially underwater, e-Foiling gives you the feeling of freedom, as you glide silently just above the water.
